ENGINEERING AND GEOLOGICAL SURVEYS

Under the work program of the contract for hydrocarbon exploration and production in the Abay structure, as well as within the framework of pre-construction activities of the first exploratory well in the Abay structure, in 2020 field work was carried out under site survey at the location of the Abay-1 exploratory well. 

Site survey were carried out in two stages.

During the first stage, engineering, hydrographic and geophysical survey were carried out on a 3x3 km area.

The first stage of the survey included the following type of work:

 • Navigational plotting from the port of Bautino to the location of the exploration well;  • bottom sounding;  • sonar survey of bottom;  • magnetometry;  • seismoacoustic profiling;  • HF CDPM.

Within the framework of the second stage, the following type of engineering and geotechnical work were performed:

 • soil sampling;

 • drilling of geotechnical wells;

 • drilling a pilot well;

 • SPT.
